WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

TUTV is dedicated to providing the opportunity for Temple University students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends from all over the world to submit their content and share their stories with the Philadelphia community. We are especially interested in receiving content in the following areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Educational
  • Featured stories about Philadelphia
  • Anything produced by local Philadelphia filmmakers

CONCEPT PROPOSAL

If you have a concept to propose to TUTV, we ask that you use the Contact Us page and send an email to Program Development in order to make an appointment with Paul Gluck, George Cummings, and Paul Winnick to briefly discuss your idea. Make sure to include a project title, a brief synopsis, your contact information and the contact information of any additional contributing authors/artists.

EXISTING CONTENT

The easiest way to submit your existing content to TUTV is to share your videos online! If your video is available online, use the Submit Your Video form to send TUTV a link to your video. However, if your content is not available online, you can fill out our Video Submission Form and send it along with a DVD or Mini DV videotape to the following address,

TUTV – Temple University Television
Video Submissions
Annenberg Hall 107
2020 North 13th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19122

Acceptable DVD mediums are DVD‐R, DVD+R, DVD-DL, or DVD+DL. DVDs must be compatible with standard DVD players. Ensure that your disc plays in a standard DVD player before you mail it to TUTV. Please do not simply burn a QuickTime or AVI file to a disc as data. Make sure to include the project title, genre, a brief synopsis, total run time (in minutes), your contact information and the contact information of any additional contributing authors/artists.

LEGAL

Due to “on air” rights and licensing issues/costs TUTV’s general policy is to prohibit copyrighted materials (audio and visual). However, if copyrighted material is included in your work you must obtain usage rights from the author/publisher prior to your submission to TUTV. Make sure to include the source/ownership of said copyrighted materials so that TUTV can verify and ensure there is no violation of an existing copyright.

Diagetic music playing as part of the background at the scene of an event or included in a news report or a documentary MAY meet the test of fair usage laws, but will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Make sure to read the TUTV Submission Policy to ensure your content is acceptable for broadcast. If TUTV accepts your program, it will likely run on cable and the website. Please read the TUTV Submission Agreement for more details.

Once accepted you will need to ensure your final submission adheres to the TUTV Technical Specifications.
