Humanities Lecture: Niambi Carter


Carter’s lecture The Curious Case of Judge Aaron: Race, the Law, and the Protection of White Supremacy explores the uses of racialized, sexual violence during the Jim Crow period.

Her primary areas of study are American politics, with an emphasis on race, identity politics, American political development, and public opinion. Her current research project examines African American public opinion with respect to immigration.

Niambi M. Carter is an assistant professor of African American Studies. A summa cum laude graduate of Temple University, she received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University.
