Temple Update: April 10, 2014


Jeseamy Muentes meets with the new TSG president, Raymond Smeriglio of the TU Believe campaign, to get his reaction on his recent victory and to talk about his first action as president-elect. Karen Fisher interviews students on campus to see how a SEPTA strike could impact students and how Temple has prepared to respond in case of such an event. Marianna Zimmerman reports live from outside the Liacouras Center on the anticipation of former president Clinton’s kickoff speech for the Beasley School of Law scholarship lecture series.

Stephanie Craig visits a community event organized by the Cheer Program, which is aimed at educating young children on the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and other dangerous activities. Jade Jarvis heads to the Foundation for International Education, a resource for Temple London students to take advantage to meet staff, use the communal kitchen, or study in the computer lab. Maxine Bentzel interviews courageous cancer survivors at Temple’s Relay for Life event at Pearson McGonigle Hall. Cody Butler attends the Phillies Home Opener where fans are treated with live music and a slew of carnival type attractions. Tommy Sladek reports on Temple Baseball’s final season at the Camden stadium and how the players have dealt with the cut of the sport from Temple Athletics.
