The Philadelphia 80′s music scene is alive and well, as The Hooters’ David Uosikkinen continues his web-based singles project, “In The Pocket: Essential Songs Of Philadelphia” with the third song ready to be released. “You Can’t Sit Down,” originally recorded by The Dovells (formed at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia) in 1963, is available for 99 cents at the Songs Of Philadelphia website. “In The Pocket: Essential Songs Of Philadelphia” revisits songs that were either recorded in Philadelphia or written and performed by Philadelphians. Uosikkinen’s band, ITP (In The Pocket), records and performs the songs, using a rotating lineup of Philadelphia music stars.
